The New Year starts off with Mars, the planet of action, entering its own ruling sign of Aries. This will motivate us to take action now!
Aries rules the Self, initiating , starting , physical activity, new beginnings, war, arguments, being more impulsive and willing to take Risks! Midnight of the second of January brings an alignment of the Sun in ambitious career oriented Capricorn, with the ruling planet of Capricorn, Saturn. This is a serious time of taking responsibility for our actions in regards to our jobs, our careers, our needs for stability and slow growth. January 5, brings a solar eclipse and new moon in Capricorn. This alignment of the sun and moon in the cardinal Earth sign again brings us to look at where we want to establish new structures. Capricorn likes rules, and regulations, management, business, being in control. Notice where you want to be more in charge of your life, whether at your job, career, home, in your emotional life, relationships,or finances. Eclipses are powerful times to release what is not working as well as focus on where you do want to put your energy in the coming days/weeks. We have a very mystical and spiritual influence on January 13, with Jupiter in Sagittarius, squaring Neptune in Pisces. This can create difficulties making clear decisions regarding travel, education, international affairs. This can also be a very inspirational time for music, the arts, spirituality, and other activities that are for uplifting our spirits! We have a lunar eclipse January 21, at 0 degrees of Leo, with the sun just entering Aquarius. This eclipse is very powerful being at 0 degrees. Again, this is a time of focusing on what brings us Joy with the Leo energy. The need for recognition, and fun will be strong. Leo rules the inner child, our need for play and romance! With Mars in Aries squaring Saturn in Capricorn the same day, watch out for feeling frustrated with ambitious efforts maybe not going as well as we want. Take time to go slowly with projects and take lots of deep breaths and do something that is fun and helps you feel connected with others who share your joy and passion! Or just enjoy your own time to yourself, with the independent energy of Mars in Aries , along with the also independent sign of Aquarius. Luckily, we have a couple of very pleasant and positive aspects afterwards with Venus, the planet of love, money and pleasure in Sagittarius, aligning with Jupiter. Look for more positive relationships aligning with many others of a variety of backgrounds and beliefs. Then, on January 31, Saturn in Capricorn makes a harmonious sextile to Neptune in Pisces, helping to bring spirituality to our practical affairs, or practicality to our spiritual affairs! With Uranus the planet of freedom in Aries, going direct on January 6, we all will be free to move forward with our own individual actions, January will be free from retrogrades for the first time in a long time, making this a very powerful month to take action on our desires and plans! New Moon in Sagitarrius, helping us to plant the seeds of our most positive Goals, that we wish to move towards in the coming month(s). We all will feel more positive and be excited to focus on our mental goals with writing, speaking, publishing, etc. that day with Mercury conjuncting Jupiter in Sagitarrius. Again, more positive energy will be available to communicate our enthusiasm with the world. Sagitarrius rules travel, education, international affairs, world cultures and philosophies, as well as Truth! The truth is coming out in all areas of life now, hopefully for the good!
